Wellness data & readiness

Sleep, HRV, and training-load balance help the coach decide whether today is a hard day or an easy one.

Where the data comes from

Wellness syncs through the same path as workouts: Garmin → intervals.icu → Brotein.pro. Enable wellness / daily health stats when linking Garmin in ICU, and backfill wellness history with Download old data (wellness) on the Connections tab.

Readiness card

In the dashboard sidebar, the Readiness section summarizes today’s state when intervals.icu is connected:

  • Sleep — hours last night vs your recent average.
  • HRV — heart rate variability vs your baseline (higher often means better recovery).
  • Form (TSB) — training stress balance: positive suggests freshness; negative suggests accumulated fatigue.

Daily coaching hint

These metrics combine into a readiness level (low, moderate, good) and a short go-hard or go-easy recommendation. Expand the breakdown to see how the score is built.

If data is missing

“No wellness data synced for today” usually means wellness is not in ICU yet, backfill is incomplete, or sync ran before today’s stats arrived. Finish Garmin wellness setup in ICU, refresh in Brotein.pro, and check again the next morning.

How the coach uses it

Chat answers and proactive workout reviews reference wellness when relevant — e.g. suggesting recovery after a hard session when HRV is low, or adjusting today’s session when sleep was short.
